The Spring has come all around and so does the warmth 🙂 But for Bangalore (where i live), its already Summers 😕Though summers of south India are considered to be less warm and dry in comparison to north India But we also experience the hottest three months of Summers starting from March till May. June brings the showers and then begins the Rainy season.
With the changing weather and increasing heat, the texture of our skin changes too. I have oily to combination skin where my Tzone is the most oily area as compared to rest of my face. Oily skin requires utmost attention in summers. Oily and greasy skin easily catch dirt and grime from its surroundings. Moreover it’s prone to acne breakout. Oily skin tends to release extra natural oil also, so it needs extra care to maintain it clean, flawless and even-toned. I clean and wash my face couple of times a day to prevent it from breaking out and getting excess oil. Five Home-Made Facial Masks For Oily Skin.
1) Banana-lemon-honey Face Mask:
The nourishing nutrients in this fruit makes the perfect face pack for oily skin. It works as a cleaning and soothing face mask for oily skin. You will see that your skin is fresh and glowing after using this fruit face mask every time. Using this banana pack twice a week will help you get oil and acne free skin. Adding a few drops of orange juice to the mixtures can also be considered. There are certain acids in citrus fruits which helps the skin to reduce the oil from the sebaceous glands. This pack also helps in removing sun-tan from the skin.
How to make: Mash the ripe banana, add a tbsp of honey and 1 tbsp of lemon juice extract. Mix it well and apply this fruit face mask on your face and neck. Let it dry. Wash it with moderately hot water to get new, acne-free skin.

2) Orange peel-yogurt Face Mask:
Orange peel is a natural effective treatment to manage greasy and oily skin.This homemade natural orange peel mask works to open and cleanse clogged pores. At the same time its astringent properties remove extra oil from the skin.
How to make: Dry out orange peels in shade and then grind them into fine powder form. Mix the powder with yogurt to form a face mask. Apply evenly on to your face and neck. Let it dry and then wash the face with lukewarm water. This face mask also helps to make your skin fairer and remove the blemishes and scars away from your face.

3) Besan-yogurt-turmeric Face Mask:
Gram flour, yogurt and turmeric together make a very effective face pack for oily skin. It works great to deep cleanse and get rid of dead skin cells from your facial skin, giving it oil free and clean appearance. This oily skin face mask also works as a natural exfoliator and facial scrub for the skin.
How to make: Take 2 tablespoons of gram flour(besan), two to three tablespoons of yogurt and one teaspoon of turmeric. Mix all the ingredients well to form a thick paste. Apply this mask on your face, leaving it there for about 20 minutes. Rinse it off with cold water. You can see how effectively it cleans out the skin, improves the skin tone and makes it look glowing and oil free.

4) Papaya fruit Face Mask:
Papaya face mask is a natural face mask for a glowing and oil free skin. Although papaya face mask suit all types of skin, but it benefits oily skin the most. Papaya face mask is very effective in removing excess oil from the skin surface. Oily skin needs frequent exfoliation and deep cleaning. Papaya contains enzymes that help in exfoliation process. If your oily skin is accompanied with pimples and scars, then the papaya mask works best for that too. A regular papaya mask application on your face gives you many benefits, including youthful skin, diminished wrinkles, even-toned skin, no discoloration and no dead skin cells.
How to make: Apply the pulp of ripe papaya on damp skin. Rub for about 15 minutes or just let it dry. Then wash it off with normal water. Your face will look glowing, fresh and oil free.

5) Fuller’s Earth / Multani Mitti Face Pack:
Multani mitti face mask is very good in soaking oil and dirt from the oily skin surface. It has been used since ancient times, to naturally remove the oiliness from the skin and treat acne and pimples. It acts as a natural cleanser and is very effective in acne breakout. You can remove extra shine, oiliness, greasiness with the help of clay masks, as they have oil reducing properties.
How to make: Take Two tablespoons of multani mitti in a bowl. Mix in One Tablespoon of rose water into it. You can add few drops of lemon as well. Mix everything together until it becomes a thick paste. Add plain water if the mixture looks too thick and adjust the consistency. Apply evenly on your face and neck and allow it to dry. Wash it off with water.
