 Long, thick and lustrous hair is high on every girl’s wishlist. Thick, bouncy and beautifully voluminous hair are not just the sign of vitality and youthfulness, but they also makes us feel pretty and feminine. Beautiful and healthy hair adds a personality to our body and also makes it appear natural and healthy.
But everyday exposure to dust, pollution, sun and dirt makes them appear dull and damaged. Also our lives are so chaotic and busy now, that its really difficult to take care of our hair and maintain them respectively. But its not always expensive or exclusive treatments that you need to spend your money on. Here are some natural hair care tips, on how to have healthy hair naturally and also some natural home remedies to help you get thick and long hair and maintain healthy locks:
1) A healthy diet :

First and foremost part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle is to eat and drink healthy. Nutritious diet and a healthy lifestyle is a “must”, if you desire to have beautiful long hair. Drink lots of water and eat a healthy diet of raw fruits and vegetables. The most effective home treatment for hair care is a healthy diet. You are what you eat, and that is what reflects on your body,be it your face, hair or health.

2. Clean and oil free scalp:
Hair wash should be quite frequent, depending on the oiliness of your skin, as well as the exposure to dirt and dust. But it’s also not good to wash your hair daily, because you can strip it from natural oils which are essential for healthy hair growth.
Always use a clarifying shampoo while washing your hair and do not use a lot of it. Using a lot of product on your hair will effect in product build up on the roots. So try to find your own way out. Usually, healthy hair needs washing from 3 days to one week, depending on its type, texture and the amount of dirt and oil in it.
You can also try a dry shampoo on one of your bad hair day or just on a lazy day.


3) Stay away from hair styling treatments and products as much: 
Use of harsh chemicals will only spoil your hair growth in the long run; hence, it’s advisable to embrace the natural beauty of your hair and find the way to avoid chemicals based treatments, or, at least, use them rarely.
Also do not comb wet hair because you can break it and try to avoid using hair dryer. It is best to let your hair dry naturally, especially in the summer time.

4) Trim your hair regularly:
Get your hair trimmed at least every six weeks to eliminate dry, split ends.

5) Get a good, regular and peaceful sleep: 

Your hair reflects the anxiety you are going through; so being happy is also a “must” if you want to stay away from dry tangled hair.

Avoid being harsh when combing, drying or styling your hair, because harsh movements can significantly damage your locks.

7) Use cold or lukewarm water for hair wash: 

Hot water can really damage the tips of your hair. So always use lukewarm or cold water to wash off your hair.

8) Try natural home remedies for different type of hair:

Oil Massage for stronger hair:

Use almond oil/ castor oil/ coconut oil/ olive oil or any oil of your choice to treat dry hair. It is a very simple procedure, pour some oil in a bowl and heat it for 40 seconds. Then evenly distribute on your hair and massage gently on your roots. Leave it for 30 minutes and then rinse normally with shampoo and conditioner using cold water.

Egg treatment for dry or brittle hair:


Use the entire egg to condition your hair. If you have dry or brittle hair, use egg whites to moisturize your hair. Use ½ cup of any egg mixture (egg white, entire egg) and apply to clean, damp hair. Leave it for 20 minutes and rinse with cold water.

You can also add 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1tablespoon honey to one egg and apply this mixture to repair dry and damaged hair. Let this stay for an hour and then rinse it off with cold water.

Aloevera or Yogurt for deep conditioning:

Aloe vera can really give a new life in the way your hair looks and feels. Just apply a small amount of aloe vera gel instead of your usual hair conditioner, let it sit on your hair for a minute or two and then, rinse. You can use yogurt instead as well.

For extra bounce and volume:

To add body and bounce to the flat hair, mix half a cup of flat beer, one tablespoon oil and one egg together. Massage it into your scalp and hair. Rinse it off after 20 minutes.

For dry and damaged hair:

Mix honey and olive oil together, (quantity depending on your hair length) and massage it gently into the clean and damp roots. Rinse it off after 20 minutes.

For dandruff and itchy scalp:

Lemon juice contains acids that fight the fungi that can cause dandruff. It also helps relieve itching on the scalp.

Simply massage your scalp with a few teaspoons of lemon juice mixed with a little water. Leave it on for 5 minutes before rinsing it out and shampooing your hair.

And finally, 

*Always use a good shampoo and conditioner for your hair depending on its type.
